King Louie’s Sports Complex (KLSC), opened in October 2015, is a 46,000 square foot state of the art climate controlled facility consisting of 2 indoor turfed fields, turfed training areas and the home for EDGE Sports Performance and L4 Lacrosse. KLSC is capable of hosting multiple sporting events including lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and flag football. In addition to leagues and tournaments, KLSC offers a range of skills clinics, camps, and athlete training and development programs. KLSC can host corporate meetings, civic functions, and kid’s and adult’s parties in our meeting and party rooms located on a large mezzanine overlooking our large indoor athletic field. KLSC also has 3 state of the art outdoor sand volleyball courts for tournament and league play.
Completed in February 2017 and 2019 respectively, KLSC added 2 outdoor competition quality sport fields. The full sized field is a synthetic turf field and lighted for night games. The field is lined for lacrosse (boys & girls), football, field hockey and soccer. The smaller field is the Southeast’s first regulation BOX field that is 60y x 35y and a synthetic turf surface. The field is lighted for night play and lined for lacrosse (boys 7v7, boys BOX, & girls 8v8), field hockey and soccer.
“King of the Turf”
The turf itself features a dual yarn system offering consistent playability and increased durability. The polyethylene slit-film stalk offers a natural aesthetic look while reducing abrasiveness to create a softer feel. The dense nylon thatch layer provides support to the stalk and eliminates the need for infill. Combined, these two yarns consist of fifty-five ounces per square yard, and they stand at almost a full one inch pile height. The turf itself is then paired with a five millimeter performance cushion that offers additional padding for comfort, safety and overall performance.
